Alexandra Clunies-Ross – VC Analyst @Artesian Venture Partners

Alexandra is a member of the VC investment team at Artesian. She focuses on investments from seed stage through to Series B, with a particular concentration on clean energy technologies. Alexandra works with over 80 portfolio companies and is a startup mentor. Prior to working at Artesian she worked as a producer at Sky News. Alexandra has a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Sydney and a Master of Business Law from The University of New South Wales.

Elise Sutherland– Founder & CEO @Stelect

Elise is a biomedical engineer, entrepreneur, speaker and women in STEM advocate. Elise has received several awards for her career in medical devices and the start-up field, including being the grand prize winner of Med Tech’s Got Talent, a national MedTech start-up competition. Elise is passionate about improving health outcomes for patients and the role that innovation and technology plays in the future of healthcare. Currently, Elise is the Founder and CEO of medical device start-up Stelect, a business revolving around improving stent selection and placement in interventional cardiology procedures.

About Stelect: 

Stelect is a multi-award-winning Melbourne based medical device company pioneering the development of an integrated coronary imaging balloon catheter, providing advanced 3D imaging of coronary blockages. This technology will allow interventional cardiologists performing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) to quickly and accurately assess arterial wall and blockage details in order to optimise stent size, placement and expansion. Stelect believes that no procedure should be based on guesswork and hence their goal is to take the guesswork out of stent selection.  Stelect is backed by Venture Capital Firm Artesian and Australia’s national med-tech accelerator, The Actuator to aid in taking their product to market.

Ariane Barker – CEO @Scale Investors

Ariane is the CEO of Scale Investors.  Prior to leading Scale Investors, she has 20 years’ experience working in blue chip financial services companies in senior executive management roles, including JBWere at National Australia Bank in Melbourne, prior to that in capital market roles with HSBC, Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch, in Hong Kong, Tokyo, New York and London. With a background in international investment banking across a range of asset classes, particularly alternatives, Ariane brings a diversity of insight and perspectives to strategic decision-making. Ariane was awarded an AICD board diversity scholarship in 2011 and has keen interest in Education, Healthcare and the Arts, thus her roles with NFPs including: The Murdoch Children’s Research Institute (MCRI), The Royal Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH) and the National Gallery of Victoria Womens Association (NGVWA).

Roanne Innes – Co-Founder & CEO @Somatrack

Roanne is Co-Founder and CEO of Somatrack. With over 20 years experience in the Healthcare industry, Roanne has strong commercial experience in sales, marketing and commercial operations within the pharmaceutical industry having held senior leaders roles at Pfizer and Bristol Myers Squibb. Roanne has a specialised focus on people and cross function team management, project and product management, together with strategy development and execution. Roanne is highly regarded as an innovative thinker with a passion for health and well-being who challenges the status quo and is quick to embrace change.
