Gregory has a financial background and is now focusing on building media & advertising startups in South East Asia. He is co-founder and chairman at Adroady.

Adroady is South East Asia’s first mobile digital out-of-home media. Distributing programmatically targeted digital content on the roads, Adroady aims to help brands deliver powerful messages to their audiences. Using big data and image recognition, they offer live reporting to achieve measurable campaign results.

Florent Barret

Vice president @Hera Capital

Florent is a Vice President at Hera Capital. He has 8 years of working experience in Asia and Europe. Prior to joining Hera Capital, Florent worked at Soft Venture, a consulting firm assisting companies accelerate in Asia. He started his career in the banking industry before founding an innovative no-water car cleaning service company.

Hera Capital is a Private Equity firm that helps finance and maximize the growth potential of South East Asia based companies. Our portfolio companies enjoy high growth potential, are either established in South East Asia or willing to enter South East Asian markets. What we offer our companies is a combination of strategic advice, hands-on business development services, corporate finance expertise, direct equity investments and access to our extended network of partners.

Franck Courmont

Managing director @Portman Investment

In parallel to his 25-year tenure as an M&A lawyer with US law firms, investment banks and an international hospitality group, Franck launched 2 real estate ventures in France and Florida. He took the plunge to become a full-time business angel a couple of years ago, investing in early stage startups such as Gofer, Hydrao, Pollen AM, Airfree, Orosound and Grabjobs. Capitalizing on his knowledge of the hospitality industry, legal background and location in Singapore, he is an adept of “smart money” where he can make an impact on the startup’s business.

Etienne de Verdelhan

Etienne led as Group CIO the definition, implementation, maintenance and related organization and process changes of all IS for L’Occitane Group since 2001, supporting business growth from 50 M€ to more than 1.3 B€ in 2016, the retail and digital practice in more than 40 countries and the opening of 2000+ stores worldwide. Being passionate about innovation and new business models in retail, he then co-founded airfree with two partners with the aim to drive digital revolution in the Travel Retail business thru the airlines.

Airfree is offering connected airlines a new way of improving customer experience while generating ancillary revenues in a modern and cost effective manner. We provide the industry with a white label marketplace allowing passengers to shop online during flight time on a very wide product and service assortment. Orders are paid online and to be picked up upon departure (pre-order), arrival or transfer.

Xinyan Fang

Co-Founder @YoRipe

Xinyan is the co-founder of YoRipe, a one-stop grocery assistant mobile app for a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. She has B2B and B2C marketing experience in food retail (Sopexa) and hospitality (Starwood Hotels & Resorts) sectors across Asia and in the U.S. where she launched products and grew brand market share. She recently completed her MBA at INSEAD.

YoRipe is a one-stop solution for efficient planning, shopping and cooking helping the busy and digital savvy households to enjoy preparing meals while achieving their wellbeing goals. Kaung Sitt

Market Engagement Manager, Ecosystem Accelerator @GSMA

Kaung is a Market Engagement Manager based out of Singapore. He builds and develops relationships with mobile operators and start-ups in South and Southeast Asia, and supports the start-ups Ecosystem Accelerator through the Innovation Fund. Kaung started his career as a software engineer and business development in Singapore’s manufacturing and software development industry. On his return to Myanmar in 2014, he co-founded Myanmar’s first start-up accelerator: ideabox. Following that he co-founded Digital Kaway Ltd where he continues as an advisor to the digital marketing firm, and subsequently Codeboratory Ltd, a coder’s laboratory producing online ticketing platform for long distances in Myanmar.

At GSMA, our mission is to build synergies between start-ups and mobile operators, with the aim to scale innovative and sustainable mobile services in emerging markets. Despite an increasing number of mobile products and services in emerging markets, reaching scale is still a challenge for most.
